Frequently Asked Questions
Why should I hire a Transition company to fulfill a service that management companies have included as part of their fee structure?
Management companies primary focus is operating the day to day affairs of the association. BridgeHOA focuses primarily on protecting the association throughout the transition process.Transitions typically include gathering an association’s governing documents, financial history, project history and an outlook of where the association stands on compliance related matters. As an independent third party, BridgeHOA has no stake in either the outgoing or incoming management company.
What is the typical timeline for an association transition?
For most homeowner associations, a management company transition typically takes 30–90 days, depending on the size and complexity of the community. A well-planned transition helps ensure there are no disruptions to daily operations, financial management, vendor services, or homeowner communications. This proactive approach helps minimize delays and ensures a smooth hand off for both the board and homeowners.
What makes hiring your company a better option than just leaving the transition to the incoming management team?
BridgeHOA is able to do what the incoming management company cannot, which is to start immediately. While the incoming management company cannot begin working on site or actively working through files until the contract starts. BridgeHOA can start while the outgoing management company is in-house/on-site with active knowledge that can be recorded and disseminated for the incoming team and the Board of Directors. “Don’t wait to find out what is missing, start with knowing!”
How are you able to work with the various management softwares that we all use?
BridgeHOA's software programs and applications all fundamentally pull from basic spreadsheet formats. The clients tell us how they need the data correlated and organized, then we make sure it's provided the same way.
How are BridgeHOA's services paid for?
Every association has unique needs, which is why BridgeHOA offers flexible engagement options. Depending on the scope of work, services may be paid directly by the association, or allocated as part of a special project approved by the Board.BridgeHOA’s goal is to provide clarity from the beginning. Before any work starts, we provide a detailed proposal outlining the scope of services, deliverables, timeline, and associated costs so the Board can make an informed decision with no surprises.
Is BridgeHOA only for associations changing management companies or otherwise planning a transition?
While transitions are one of our specialties, BridgeHOA also works with associations (whether managed, self-managed or in new development) that want to improve organization, review governing documents, evaluate compliance practices, prepare for developer turnover or strengthen operational processes.Whether your community is planning a major transition or simply looking to improve how information is organized and maintained, BridgeHOA provides consulting services designed to support long-term success.
